Success Week slated for Sept. 22-27 at KU
LAWRENCE — Success Week at the University of Kansas features activities that focus on academic success, stress relief, career planning and getting involved at KU. This year, Success Week is Sept. 22-27.
Highlights are listed below. For a complete list of activities, visit www.successweek.ku.edu.
— Faculty Food for Thought, 5-6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at Mrs. E’s; 5-6:30 p.m. Sept 23 at Gertrude Sellards Pearson Hall; and 5-6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at Oliver Hall. Students will have the opportunity to ask faculty members questions in an informal setting, get to know faculty members outside of the classroom and better understand students’ and faculty members’ roles at KU and in the community. Academic advisers also will be available.
— Majors Fair, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Kansas Union. Students can learn about academic programs and register for door prizes.
— 15 Minutes of Freedom, noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 24 at Watkins Memorial Health Center. Get a chair massage, learn breathing exercises and get tips on stress relief.
— More Than a Student: Get Involved. Be a Leader, 5-7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Kansas Union. Students will have the opportunity to learn about campus groups at the university and talk with upperclassmen about their leadership experiences. Learn how getting involved can make student life better.
— Multicultural Student Success Fair, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Kansas Union. The fair is designed to provide a forum for students to meet KU staff and representatives from student organizations, university departments and corporations. There will be several workshops and an information fair that will encourage networking and dialogue among students, staff and employers.
— SUA Carnival, 8 p.m. to midnight, Sept. 27 in the parking lot at the Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center. Carnival rides, games and food. Sponsored by Student Union Activities.
