Study abroad fair to be held Feb. 4

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas students who want to study abroad will have an opportunity to learn about more than 40 programs in 25 countries at the 2009 Summer Study Abroad Fair.

KU study abroad program directors will talk with students and answer questions from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in the Kansas Union lobby. KU students who have studied abroad also will be on hand to offer a personal perspective.

Summer study abroad is a great opportunity to earn additional credit hours, improve language skills or pursue a specific academic interest in depth, said Robert Lopez, outreach coordinator for the Office of Study Abroad. The deadline for most programs is March 1.

“We will have information on all fall and academic-year programs around the world, as well as our summer internship program in London and Dublin,” said Lopez. “The Study Abroad Fair is a great way to gather information on different study abroad opportunities.”

Program applications will be available at the fair. Students who can’t attend the fair should stop by the Office of Study Abroad resource library in 105 Lippincott Hall to learn about options.
