Selected KU offices to have extended hours as spring semester begins

LAWRENCE — Some offices at the University of Kansas will offer extended hours Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 13-15, to accommodate new and returning students during the first week of the spring semester.

Offices will be staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on those three days. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other offices that regularly offer extended hours are also listed below.

Staff will track the number of students they help. This will help assess student needs for future KU office openings.

The following offices, with locations or contact numbers, will be open for the extended hours:

— Academic Achievement and Access Center, 22 Strong Hall
— Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center will offer regular hours from 5:30 a.m. to midnight
— Bursar’s Office, 21 Strong Hall (cashier hours are 8:10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 23 Strong Hall)
— Campus phone operators, (785) 864-2700 (Automated Directory Assistance available 24 hours a day)
— College Student Academic Services, 109 Strong Hall, (785) 864-3500
— IT Customer Service Center, (785) 864-8080, will be available by phone from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The center will offer regular walk-in hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
— KU Card Center, fourth floor, Kansas Union, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— KU Info, fourth floor, Kansas Union, (785) 864-3506, will offer regular phone hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
— New Student Orientation, 154 Strong Hall
— Office of Admissions and Scholarships, KU Visitor Center
— Office of Student Financial Aid, 50 Strong Hall
— Office of the University Registrar, 151 and 121 Strong Hall
— Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success, 133 and 113 Strong Hall, (785) 864-4060
— Parking and Transit, Allen Fieldhouse Parking Garage, will offer regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— Student Health Services in Watkins Memorial Health Center will offer regular hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
— Student Information Services, (785) 864-0190
— Student Involvement and Leadership Center, 400 Kansas Union
— Student Success Technology Services, (785) 864-4258, will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— University Advising Center, 126 Strong Hall

In addition, the Department of Student Housing, Suite DSH in Corbin Hall, will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5-7.
