University mourns student Antonio Mateos
LAWRENCE — University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway and William Fuerst, dean of the School of Business, released the following statements today regarding the death of KU student Antonio Mateos.
Mateos was found dead Saturday, June 27, in Jefferson County. He was a junior from Lawrence majoring in business who earned honor roll distinction in fall 2007. Information about services was not available.
Hemenway: “On behalf of the KU community, I offer deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Antonio Mateos. Our hearts go out to them at this time of tragic loss.”
Fuerst: “The School of Business is saddened to learn of Antonio’s passing. He was committed to his studies while also working full time. We join everyone at KU in expressing our sincerest condolences to Antonio’s family and friends.”
