LAWRENCE — The Office of Admissions and Scholarships at the University of Kansas has announced the names of more than 100 students who will serve as KU ambassadors throughout the academic year.
Student ambassadors work closely with the admissions office, volunteering their time to give campus tours, serve on informational panels in Lawrence and elsewhere and correspond with prospective students.
Throughout the year, select student ambassadors are honored for exemplary service and recognized as Ambassadors of the Month. Last spring, Joshua Dean Deboer, a sophomore from Overland Park, was named New Ambassador of the Year for 2008-09. New Ambassadors of the Year are recognized for their first year of participation. Mario Anthony Rodriguez, Stilwell, and Jordan Cox, Mulvane, were named Co-ambassadors of the Year for 2008-09. Rodriguez is a senior, and Cox is a junior. Ambassadors of the Year are recognized for any year they may have participated.
In the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, student ambassador activities are coordinated by Christopher S. Woolery, master’s degree student in education from Princeton. Three undergraduates assist with program. Woolery and the undergraduate assistants are listed below by their hometowns and, when available, parents’ names and high schools attended.
