KU Endowment board elects seven new trustees
LAWRENCE — At its 118th annual meeting today, the KU Endowment Board of Trustees elected seven new trustees.
Jill S. Docking of Wichita graduated from KU in 1978 with a bachelor’s in history and in 1984 with a master’s of business administration. She is the chair of the Kansas Board of Regents and is first vice president-investments of Wells Fargo Advisors LLC in Wichita.
Gregory M. Graves of Stilwell earned a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1980 and a master’s of business administration from Rockhurst University in 1986. He is chairman of the board and CEO of Burns and McDonnell in Kansas City, Mo.
David L. Murfin of Wichita graduated from KU in 1975 with bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and business. He is president of Murfin Drilling Co. and chairman and CEO of Murfin Inc. Both companies are based in Wichita with diverse business operations.
Ramón Murguía of Kansas City, Kan., graduated from KU in 1981 with a bachelor’s in business administration and accounting. He earned a law degree from Harvard University in 1984. He is a private practice attorney in Kansas City, Mo., focusing primarily on counseling small- and medium-sized businesses and advising clients on estate administration.
Warren J. Newcomer Jr. of Topeka graduated from KU in 1975 with a bachelor’s in business administration. He is president of Newcomer Funeral Service Group in Topeka.
William B. Taylor of Overland Park graduated from KU in 1967 with a bachelor’s in accounting and business administration and in 1969 with a master’s in accounting. He is retired from Ernst and Young, where he worked with domestic and international clients, primarily in the financial services industry.
Gregs G. Thomopulos of Iowa City, Iowa, graduated from KU in 1965 with a bachelor’s in civil engineering. He earned a master’s at the University of California-Berkeley in 1996. He is president and CEO of Stanley Consultants in Muscatine, Iowa.
KU Endowment is the official fundraising and fund-management foundation for KU. Founded in 1891, KU Endowment was the first foundation of its kind at a U.S. public university.
