KU appoints committee to find College of Liberal Arts and Sciences dean
LAWRENCE — University of Kansas officials today announced the formation of a search committee tasked with finding a dean for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, KU’s largest academic unit.
The committee will conduct a nationwide search. Kathleen McCluskey-Fawcett, director of the University Honors Program and professor of psychology, will chair the committee. Greg Simpson is interim dean.
Committee members are: Ken Audus, dean of the School of Pharmacy; Ann Cudd, professor of philosophy and associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Derrick Darby, associate professor of philosophy; Charles Eldredge, Hall Distinguished Professor of American Art and Culture; Jolene Fairchild, budget officer, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Steve Hawley, professor of physics and astronomy; Michelle Hayes, associate professor and associate chair of dance; Mary Anne Jordan, professor of visual art; Bill Staples, professor and chair of sociology; Don Steeples, senior vice provost; Joy Ward, associate professor of ecology and evolutionary biology; Michael Wade Smith, student; and Tom Laming, KU alumnus and portfolio manager with Scout Investment Advisors.
