More Information

LAWRENCE — Seven business students at the University of Kansas received R.E.S.P.E.C.T Awards on March 24 during the annual Walter S. Sutton Ethics Lecture.

“The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Awards began in 2006 as a way to recognize students who live up to the principles embodied in this positive code of conduct for the School of Business,” said Douglas May, co-director of the International Center for Ethics in Business. “This positive code was created by undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students. The selected students serve as positive role models for others in the School of Business.”

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. stands for responsibility, enthusiasm, self-esteem, professional integrity, equity, compassion and teamwork. Students are nominated by faculty, staff and students, and award recipients are chosen by the Honor Council in the School of Business.

Awards are supported by funds from the Marjorie McNish Fund for Ethics in Business, which is managed by KU Endowment. KU Endowment is the official fundraising and fund-management foundation for KU.
