Columnist Dan Savage to speak at KU

LAWRENCE — Student Union Activities, along with Queers and Allies, will host Dan Savage at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Woodruff Auditorium in the Kansas Union.

Savage is the author of the “Savage Love” advice column and the creator of the It Gets Better Project. The video project promotes awareness about the gay and lesbian community, disenfranchised groups and bullying. Student and community members are encouraged to create their own It Gets Better Project videos, which will be posted on SUA’s YouTube page and website.

Tickets are free for KU students and $5 for the public. Tickets may be picked up at the SUA box office on level four in the Kansas Union.

SUA is a student programming board at KU. The board has programmed events on campus for more than 70 years, and it comprises more than 90 students.
