Finance student wins $1,500 Financial Executives International scholarship
LAWRENCE — University of Kansas junior Dev Vrat Khanna has won a Financial Executives International academic award worth $1,500.
Khanna, who is pursuing a finance major and economics minor, was one of three winners chosen from nominees from 14 area universities. The scholarship honors outstanding achievement in finance or accounting.
Khanna was nominated for the award by School of Business faculty.
On his application, Khanna cited his academic and extracurricular activities, including internship experiences and his participation in the Finance Scholars Program and the University Scholars Program. Khanna is vice president of Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional business fraternity.
The scholarship was given by the Kansas City chapter of Financial Executives International, a group of about 200 financial leaders representing companies and organizations in the area.
Khanna is son of Vikram Khanna of Pune, India.
The University of Kansas is a major comprehensive research and teaching university. University Relations is the central public relations office for KU's Lawrence campus.
