KU to host regional basketball tournament for intramural teams

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas has been selected to host a regional basketball championship for collegiate intramural squads.

The 2011 National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association National Campus Championship Series Regional Basketball Tournament will take place at KU’s Ambler Student Recreation Fitness Center from Feb. 25 to 27.

Teams from around the Midwest will compete for the top spot in separate women’s and men’s divisions. Winners of each division qualify for the National Championships to be held April 1-3 at the University of Texas-Austin.

Applications for student teams and officials are accepted through Feb. 18. The public is encouraged to attend this free event. For more information on the tournament and to register, visit the KU Recreation Services website.
