Campus access to be limited July 2 for Tour of Lawrence bicycle race

More Information

LAWRENCE — Vehicle access will be limited on the University of Kansas’ Lawrence campus Saturday, July 2 to accommodate part of the Tour of Lawrence bicycle race.

The KU Campus Circuit Race, part of a three-day, citywide event, will take place from 7 a.m. to approximately 7 p.m. July 2. All campus street entrances, with the exception of the intersections of Irving Hill Road and Naismith Drive and 11th and Maine streets, will be closed to vehicular traffic during that time. Parking will be available to spectators in the garage adjacent to Allen Fieldhouse and on side streets.

The race will take riders on a 4.4-mile loop around campus. Riders will start in front of Wescoe Hall and complete a set number of laps.

The street closures will help keep riders and spectators safe.

The KU Campus Circuit Race is part of the third annual Tour of Lawrence. The event also features the Crown Toyota Street Sprint on Friday, July 1. The Mass Street Mile Run and kids races will be held the morning of Sunday, July 3. Bicycle races will be held from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. that day. All those events will be held in downtown Lawrence.
