LAWRENCE — The names of more than 4,800 candidates for degrees at the University of Kansas this spring — representing 99 Kansas counties, 43 other states and 59 other countries — have been announced by the University Registrar.
The Class of 2011 includes about 2,580 students who completed degree work in summer and fall 2010. Because KU conducts only one formal Commencement ceremony each year, many of these graduates will return Sunday, May 22, for the university’s 139th Commencement. More than half of the members of the Class of 2011 are expected to participate.
Faculty and candidates for degrees will assemble at 10 a.m. along Memorial Drive for the procession, which begins at 10:30 a.m. The program begins about 11:30 a.m.
Commencement information and an up-to-date schedule of events are available at commencement.ku.edu.
Degree candidates are listed online by home county, state or country; degree; major; level in school; parents’ names; and high school (when available). The students are also listed by last name, hometown and degree in an alphabetical list. This list only includes names of students who applied for graduation by April 29. Note: There are no degree candidates from Comanche, Harper, Lane, Ottawa, Wichita and Woodson counties in Kansas.
